Inversions in general are considered the yoga poses with some of the most profound health benefits. In fact, headstand is often called the king of all asana.

Often hailed by yogis as the cure for all ails - a regular practice of Salamba Sirsasana (headstand) and other inversions, exercise the heart, increases the circulation, nourishes the endocrine system, and stimulates the nervous system.

Join Peg Mulqueen as she teaches the preparatory postures, stages, and adaptations to students so they may achieve and enjoy headstand, shoulderstand, and even fore-arm balances.   The goal being that each of these may be weaved with confidence,  into a student’s regular yoga practice.

This is part one of a two-part inversion workshop.  It is not required, for students to participate in part one as a pre-requisite for part two - however it is recommended.  

You don’t have to be a gymnast to learn the fundamentals and enjoy the freedom of standing on your hands.  

Handstands are both empowering and playful.  Join Peg Mulqueen as she leads you through a practice that will build the foundation for your hands to root and your feet to fly. 

It will be a perfect opportunity for the beginning student to learn the basic set up to cultivate their ongoing practice - while granting seasoned practitioners the tools and confidence to find their balance in the middle of the room.

Students of all levels are invited for this dynamic introduction into the exciting posture of Adho Mukha Vrksasana - Handstand.
